Women's History Month

Women's History Month starts on March 1st, and it will be even more significant in 2021, as many of the women's suffrage centenary events in 2020 were canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 National Women's Month Celebration is a tribute, a platform, and a call to action for ordinary Juanas who have made extraordinary contributions to society as trailblazers and change makers. In order to achieve maximal empowerment, this event also acts as a forum for debating and addressing the difficulties that women continue to encounter. Gender equality legislation that is significant, long-term, and inclusive is also a demand of the movement. This month, we'll also be presenting inspiring tales to honor the many women who are making a difference in their communities, their country, and the world.

Since then, the Women's Month Celebration has served as a venue for honoring women's achievements as well as discussing ongoing and emerging issues, concerns, difficulties, and commitments related to women's empowerment and gender equality .The commemoration focuses on specific actions in accordance with national and international instruments and treaties such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Beijing Platform for Action, the Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development (1995-2025), the Framework Plan for Women, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
