Feast Day of St. Paul, The Apostle during the COVID-19 pandemic

Fiesta is a time of joyful celebrations for Filipinos, who cook heaps of hearty food, throw open their doors to visitor, and parade in the streets.  The Vigan City Fiesta is held in honour of St. Paul the Apostle, the city’s patron saint, on 25 of January each year. Locals and tourists gather to experience and see the street dancing, carnivals, food fairs, and arts and crafts, adding to the attraction of this UNESCO world heritage City.

Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic the Fiesta of Vigan City is not the same as compared to the previous years. The presence of this pandemic almost canceled all the activities during the Vigan City Fiesta. There was no Street Dancing show, Food Fairs, Cooking Contest, Arts and Crafts, and Carnivals. Bigueños are not used to it, that the Vigan Fiesta was dull and Boring.

The City Hall of Vigan Decided to cancel all of this activity in order to keep us safe from the virus. Even though the Vigan Fiesta is not Fun as compared from the previous years, I hope and Pray to God that the upcoming Fiesta’s and years will be more fun and I hoping that the Virus will end soon.
